Cree is a manufacturer of LEDs. One of the biggest manufacturers in the world. They also make some of the brightest. Not just for automotive applications, but also for home, architectural, and outdoor lighting.

Default Daytime Pics of Cree LED Headlight

With all this talk about LED headlights, I took Batman up on his offer to get some daylight pics of his Cree (Sirius) LED headlight. He snapped a few and sent them to me today, and it's with his permission that I'm uploading them to this thread for everyone to see. So on behalf of everyone, I want to say thanks to Batman for his help.

Spoiler Alert: This is the most impressive set of pics I've seen for an LED headlight!

25 feet away, at a sharp angle

from about 50 feet

from 125 feet away... still visible!

I should also note that Batman took all of these pictures using ONLY THE LOWBEAM. So it's a single Sirius bulb (using Cree LED's) that we are seeing here. For Rushmore owners, high beams will use 2 bulbs. The nice thing for non-Rushmore owners that have single-bulb headlights (yeah, I know this is a Rushmore thread) is that this is also what you're light will look like.

I have to say, for the price of these (< $100) it seems like a great option. I think I'm going to try it out. In comparison to a Truck Lite or Daymaker, it's an inexpensive experiment with high probability of success.

Once again, thanks to Batman for the pics!

Straight stock halagen lens that comes on a 14 sg. I took out the stock bulbs and installed the Cree led bulbs. I would have posted myself but I don't know how too. I'm a wrench at heart and soul not a computer guy by any means. Thanks for posting. All of those pics were taken with my galaxy 5s also. Nothing special camera wise either. I probably need to adjust it up some also. I never did adjust it from factory set up.

Great shots...clearly, the head light is visible from an off angle.

My question is this: I happen to own a '14 RK; does my bike share the same headlight assembly as the '14 SG? FWIW, my head light has two separate bulbs one over the other. The bottom one is in a round reflector (looks like it is for high beam). And if is the same, can you please post a link or part number?

thanks

I have a Road King also and I did the following for the LED upgrade for the low beam, high beam and the passing lights

Works real good

Thanks RK,

One question: when riding during the day with low beam on, how would you rate the visibility versus the OE halogens? same, better, etc?

Did upgrading the passing lamps add any off angle visibility? I am sure they help straight on.....

thanks.
