Vivid Black - no other options

 

August, according to a poster above me, but that's not when I would buy one. Wait until the middle of winter, when nobody's riding. They're usually more willing to make you a deal when volume is low, from my experience and others' stories.

 

On May 22, I paid $20,000 cash "OTD" plus my trade-in for a new 2014 Vivid Black Ultra Limited. I wanted to do a complete cash deal but could not sell my existing bike. I tried unsuccessfully for over a month to sell my high mileage 06 Yamaha FJR1300AE. Even though it was in excellent condition, and had some great extras and sales ads, this model had the electronic shifter and hardly generated any interest. Most dealers I talked to also did not want any part of it. One dealer in particular even laughed when I offered it in trade. Since the trade-in value from couple of sources was somewhere around $4900, I figure I paid $24,900 OTD for mine. I hope I didn't overpay by too much.
