Default Oil capacities

Hey guys/gals

I received my new ultra Limited one week ago today and I now have my 1000 miles on the bike and with my service agreement I'm due my 1000 mile service.
I'll take the bike into the local dealer to have the service done but I want them to use the oil I bring (Redline) for the tranny and I'll most likely use amsoil synthetic for primary and engine. I've read over numerous posts on oils and recommendations and it seems for tranny RL is the oil to use. My question is how much oil do I need to purchase for all three holes?

Thanks in advance,
James

Service manual says:

oil capacity: 4 qts. Put 3 qts in & then check & top off as needed.

Primary: use 38 ounces unless you change the primary seal which yiou don't need to do.

Tranny: 1 qt capacity, but only put in 28 ounces & check then top off as needed.

I believe all this info is in your owners manual as well. Suggest you get a service manual too.

Thanks guys,

I'm at work so I didn't have my owners manual here, figured I get the oils ordered and have it on hand when I take the bike to dealer.
Wheres the best place to get a service manual w/o having to go thru the dealer?

Not really sure on that. I got mine thru dealer cost about $60. Good luck.

I have the extended oil pan on my bike and I use 7 quarts of mobile 1 20/50 V Twinn for all three hole. So much easier to use just one oil, IMHO. Got my Service manual from Kutter.

Not sure where you got the bike, but your dealer should give you a discount on parts. I got my SGS at Bumpus in Murfreesboro and I get a discount. It bought my manual from them as well. Most big stuff I have bought from Kutter.

P.S. Small world, you bought my JP rifle :-)

Hey there Hozzie,

Small world indeed. I got my bike at Bumpus in Murfreesboro as well. Oh that JP rifle shoots lights out to. Litterly 3/8" groups at 100 yards.
