Anybody install the DK Customs 2 inch tank lift on their Rushmore batwing bike ? If so any clearance issues.

Have it on mine. Transferred it over from my 10' when I sold it to get the rush. No issues here at all.

There can be a clearance issue...all depends on how you have your handlebars adjusted, and what is hanging off of them.

It is always best to check for clearance before ordering.

It is easy to check for clearance:

1. With bike on kickstand, take the bolt out of the front of your tank.

2. Loosen (do not remove) the bolt at the rear of your tank.

3. Turn your handlebars all the way to the left and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.

4. Turn your handlebars all the way to the right and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.

What is the purpose of raising your Tank? I don't get it.

It's just that old school "Frisco Tank"look, I built a sportster and did the tank lift. But I don't really think it belongs on a bike with a big tank.

Easier to clean the rocker covers, makes them more visible, allows more air to go across the top of the rocker cover adding to a little better cooling and looks good.

On the Twin Cams it lowers engine temps anywhere from 10-20*

The other thing it will do, especially on the 5 and 6 gallon tanks, it change the wind coming over the top of the tank. A great many experience a reduction in buffeting with a tank lift. Of course, this is different for every individual due to body size and posture. But more than not will have less buffeting with a tank lift.

Sportsters it's mostly for looks, Twin Cams it is a very practical mod.
