Default Chromed plastic

I have a pet peeve about chrome plated plastic. Does anyone know where I can get this (outer fairing skirt) part in chrome plated metal?

I agree. It's a cheap look. I don't have a solution for you but I would like to know where you pulled the pick of the black one from. I'm trying to eliminate all the chrome and am looking for a black one.

I wonder how much these bikes would weigh if all of the plastic were metal....

Well, it would be impossible to use metal for the seat, the handgrips, the wiring insulation, the windshield, or the turn signal lenses. But some of the other parts in metal would be just fine in terms of weight.

I was also disappointed that the thin covers, that go into top of rear fender struts, on Street Glide are also plastic.

They are removed if add the 4 point docking, and full tour doesn't have them due to trunk, but still would have preferred metal.

I'm almost afraid to ask, but is the console plastic too? It appears that the inner section around the gas cap may be.
