Do Yaffe bars run taller than other bars? I have a friend that wants 12" for his 14 SGS. But I think I read on this forum somewhere that they run tall so the 12" would be like 13"-14" compared to other 12" bars.

 

That is correct. A 12" Yaffe is the same as a 14" in most other brands.

 

I think it's just to keep everyone on their toes

 

Ive got 16' yaffe's and I dont think they are taller than most. I compared to a buddy with 14's of another brand and his seem right about 2" lower..

 

Quick comparison for you - my buddy has an 08 Ultra with 10" MBB and I have a 14 Street Glide with the Harley 12" Mini apes - his monkey bagger bars (Yaffe) are two inches taller than mine. His 10" bars are still about an 1" taller than my 12" Harley mini apes.

 

Good comparison, i have a 14 street glide thats getting harley 12" mini apes. How tall are u? I am 5'-10" and wondering how the harley bars will be for me. My friend is probably 5'-7" or maybe a little shorter and he is ordering the 10" yaffe bars today. I wish i had ordered the yaffe bars.

 

I'm 6' and the HD bars are way better than stock, but wish I had a little more reach like the MBB. I would not go back to stock and am happy with what I have, but the MBB in 10" is what I would do over with.

The HD bars. Require handlebar mounted mirrors but the MBB will work with the stock fairing mounted mirrors. Minor detail but gives some thought into the different size when HD is 12" and MBB are only 10"

One last note on the two....I didn't have to extend my clutch or brake lines with the HD bars but they were stretched to the max. MBB would have required new lines for both. Some people have reported not needing new clutch and or brake lines.

 

Last week I picked up a 2014 the same color that you have. I ordered 10 Yaffe bars for it and should have them by the weekend. Did you do yours yourself? Any tips I'm coming from the softail world. Do you have any pics of your setup? Thanks!

 

My MBB 12 bars just arrived on the Brown truck last night, need to measure them. Hoping I can use my stock cables as some have reported. I have the Namz extensions. Will report results
