Default Test rode a '14 King and SG today

Both were brand new showroom bikes. First of all, the new 103 spanks! There is definitely more grunt to it than my '13 fatboy. I rode the SGS solo and I love the fairing on it with no glare and having the gauges at almost eye level is real nice. Then me and the OL jumped on the King and boy can you tell the difference in ride between the two with the Kings air ride, touring suspension and better seats for both of us. The front fairing is also better at moving air around us but it was a bit tall and also a lot of glare on the inside of it. Im thinking that switching to a shorter smoked shield would help with both issues.

If I can swing a decent trade-in value for my FB towards the mysterious red King then im going for it. We both really liked the silver too (and they are quite rare) but the dark red has a bit more 'character' color-wise. Wish like hell that the King came in Moroccan gold, but oh well.

Has anybody else recently been in the situation of wanting to trade in a 2013 for a Rushmore? It's real hard to not be super impressed with all the changes for 2014 and to be just a tad envious of those who have their Rushmore already!

I had a 13 street glide and sold it instead of trading it in, I would of lost my *** off in a trade.

Keep your 13 and just buy the new red King. You'll be better off in the long run.

I really like both the RK and SGS and struggled with which one to buy. I think I would have been happy with a RK too. What swayed my decision was knowing I was going to keep my Dyna.. for windshield off riding.

I like the Mysterious Red but I say get the Silver and when you can afford it tastefully lay some black on there and you would have something different and and cool. You will love the bike.

I traded a '13 street glide in for my '14. I lost some money obviously, but I had put so much down on the '13 and owed so little, I didn't really care. The improvements to me were worth it. I only have 450 miles on my SGS (mostly all from this week), and I love it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree with the idea of customizing the silver one with some black, maybe pinstripes or whatever, and I feel it's more visible to other drivers. We both like each color equally for different reasons.

Decisions, decisions!
