Default FM radio reception

Is it just me or has the FM radio reception gotten worse after the last Infotainment update? I know there are other little things that started acting up after that update and wondering it this is another.

I haven't noticed it but then again I just started riding again after the winter from hell. I also put in a J&M internal antenna which seems to give better reception than the whip as evidence that my favorite station comes in in the garage now and it didn't before.

Anyway, I'm happy with my FM reception. It's as good as my car which is all I can really compare it to.

I have the Harley hidden antenna and I don't really care for the reception it gets. I usually just cruise with my IPod and listen to tunes I want.

It's horrible!!!! If I hold the top of the antenna while standing in my driveway with the radio going the reception gets better, as soon as I let go it gets all staticy again...

I agree, the FM reception isn't very good. I have been listening to XM or my USB.

I haven't had any problems with mine. In fact I'm surprised sometimes when I get reception when I wouldn't think I would.... Maybe you have a loose connection somewhere?

I have to agree that the FM reception is poor but I can't say for sure that it was due to the most recent update. I had stopped listening to the radio for several months due to the popping / crackling noise that I found annoying. Even though I installed the 1.17.4 update in mid February, I didn't really test the radio until mid March. Unfortunately I now find myself muting the radio due to all the static from poor reception of the stations that I prefer to listen to. Unless your are tuned to a very strong signal the sound is poor due to static. I did mention this to my dealer but I have not brought the bike to them so that they could compare reception to another bike and/or check for problems.

I would say a lot depends on where you are I am in the Orlando area, I have the HD hidden antenna and I pick up a station that is over on the coast no problems and at times I pick up stations from Tampa and that is a good 100 miles from me.

I did not have the original version for long. So can't say if it was better.

Reception wise, I am OK with it. Seems to get what I want. However, the seek mode does not find stations that come in strong. That is frustrating, and may indicate that I have poorer reception than I think I have.
