I looked for the Peak Global Lifetime at every local auto parts place around me....Nobody had it on the shelf. About a week later I walk into a Walgreens Pharmacy and they have three gallons on the shelf. Paid $11.00 for a gallon.

Still don't like having to buy a full gallon. But at least I know it is compatible with what is in my cars and $5.99 at pep Boys is a lot better then $23 at Harley.
I decided to verify the information I found on the other forum. So I sent the following email to Old World Ind:

I read online that you manufacture the "Genuine
Harley-Davidson Extended Life Antifreeze and Coolant". Is
that true? If so, do you sell the same coolant under the Peak brand name?

This is the reply I received:

Thank you for your email.

We do manufacture Harley-Davidson antifreeze and coolant. The product is
the same formulation as that of Peak Global antifreeze.

Yeah, that went around a while back. We can get the Peak Global Lifetime coolant at almost every auto parts store in our area, in addition to the Wal-Marts, Target, etc...... In the past three years I've gone thru about 2 or 3 ounces, and soon will change the coolant per the scheduled maintanance. So my gallon jug should last me a good long time. Hell, even if it was the expensive Harley branded stuff, it's not like it'd bankrupt anyone. Only takes about a quart to do drain and fill.

 

I added about 1/4 oz. to mine right after I got the bike over a year ago (the coolant was supplied by dealer for free) and none has been required since.

If you're having to top-up the reservoir more than once or twice - and that's when the bike's new and a few bubbles left in the system during assembly are working their way out - then you have a more serious problem than the cost of a gallon of antifreeze.

When change-out time comes around, I'll probably just go back to the dealer and scrounge a quart and a half or so from them. Sun H-D in Denver - none better anywhere, IMO.

 

It’s not a cost or quantity issue for me, it’s the fact that my nearest HD dealership is 45 minutes away. I can buy the Peak 2 minutes away.
