New 6.5 Audio System Playlist Issues
I have an new 2014 Ultra Limited and am trying to figure out the new 6.5 Boom Audio System. Overall the system is easy except for one snag. . .I have a Galaxy S3 Android (soon to be S5) with a 32GB micro SD card installed that is loaded with music.
I Bluetooth or directly connect the phone to the bike through the USB cable and all is recognized, but it won't see the playlists (8 of them) that I've created (using WIN Media Player). They all play fine on the phone, but the H-D Audio system just says "Unknown Playlist".
The weird part is the H-D Audio System does recognize all my added ring tones and plays them fine (they are loaded to the internal phone memory).
Has anyone else had this trouble? Have you been able to fix it?
Thanks

I consider myself fairly tech savy, but I don't understand this issue myself. You need to create a playlist .m3u text file for the system to recognize your playlist.
When my iPhone is plugged in the system recognizes the playlists. With the thumb drive it would not. I was too lazy to figure out how to create the .m3u playlist file on my thumb drive so I downloaded a Playlist program for my Macbook that does it automatically. Good luck.

It's called Playlist Export in the App store and was $4.99. The nice thing is it links automatically to iTunes. Only downside I have found is my radio displays each playlist twice in the selection menu. Not sure how to fix that.

I have some weird stuff with my S4, it worked at first then I had the Boom audio upgrade done (4 speakers and amp). Now when my phone is connected to USB and I go to playlist it shows all these funky file names and only one of my playlist, the one I originally had working. I wound up buying a $10 USB drive to use.

I read online how guys were fixing the problem, but I wasn't sure how to do it in a reasonable amount of time. You say, "....process a quick gawk script...", and I have no clue what you are talking about. $4.99 was well worth the time and aggravation it would have caused me to do it myself. The program pulls my playlists and audio files directly from iTunes and puts everything on my USB....piece of cake.
