Disc locks are always good.

Covers are always good. If they can't see it, they'll likely walk away.

Good luck.

Question for you Rob. I have the Smart Siren II and the pager(s).

Do you find the siren to be a bit weak? I really want to re-wire the alarm to the horn. That horn is LOUD !!!!!

Thoughts?

Compared to the horn, yes it's weak. I've never thought about that, but it's a great idea! Hmmmm, I wonder if it's been done?

Trying to figure it out as we speak. There must be a work around. Studying the wiring diagrams in an attempt to figure it out.

Yeah, there are two wires to the horn(power/ground). The "radioshack siren mod" uses two wires as well...

I put the same siren/alarm on my '07 UGC in 2008.
Mine is loud!
Had some kid tried sitting on the bike when I was in the gas station.
Just moving the bike a small bit set the alarm off.
Lady came in the station and said "Something is making a noise out there."
Sure enough, it was my bike, laying on its side!
He dumped it.
Pegs and saddlebag guards protected the bike. Good thing....
Too many lookers and people who want to sit on it.
Had a decal made up for the gas cover.

ALARM/SECURITY EQUIPPED
BIKE WON'T START
LOUD ALARM WILL SOUND
OWNER MAY BE ARMED
LEAVE IT ALONE

Haven't been bothered since.....
Even on a trip to California....

I understand your concerns. That is what we all feel every time we park our rides at hotels etc. No amount of security devices will prevent the professional thief from taking your ride. But for those semi honest thieves, well any locking device can be a deterrent. Lock the forks, added a front disc lock and unless a tow truck comes, it will still be there. Saddlebags are the biggest issue. Old style (prior to 2014) hardbag lids can be popped open with a screw driver. The pins can also be popped with a screwdriver. So either secure them with screws inside the bag or take them into your room. You do what you feel is best for you!

I'm sorta new to the HD world. My Ultra comes with the security system, but when the bike is moved, all that happens is lights flash.

Is there a siren also? Or is this an extra purchase?
