For you guys using a thumb drive. Is there a way to do playlists on there? I tried when I loaded the music on but still shows one list.

I have the iPod classic 64g. It works sporadically, locks up, etc. I bought a new wire connection, same results. It will play for awhile, then lock up, or play a song for 15 secs or so then skip to the next. I would have to reboot the iPod and then it would work for a few minutes and fail again. So today I bought a new iPod touch 32g. I'll try it this weekend.

There is a way to setup playlists. A couple of guys know how, but I can't seem to find it. Hopefully they'll chime in.

On my Mac. I set up a new playlist, name it something like "Bike Tunes 1" and put the songs I want in it. Then go to each song, choose "Get Info" and rename the album name to the same as the playlist, in this case, "Bike Tunes 1". Haven't used PC's in years but imagine they have a similar way to rename album for each song. Plug in the thumb drive to the bike and choose Media and USB stick and then can use the "Find" feature and choose "Albums" instead of "Playlists". All of my playlists and individual albums are there to choose from as well as track list for each. I prefer the USB stick since if someone steals it, I'm only out a few bucks rather than having to replace my iPod Touch or other MP3 player. Right now I have a couple Bike Tune playlists, Beach Music playlists, and lots of Albums.

Anything that writes m3u playlists is supported. I have a 32gb microsd with several playlists depending on my mood. I use Rhythmbox on Arch Linux to handle everything. Wouldn't own an apple product if you paid me.

Had the same problem with an old iPod, bought a new one and now works fine.
