Default 2014 6.5" Boom GPS Audio doesn't work

When using the navigation, while either the radio or I-Pod is playing, as I approach a turn that the navigation indicates that I should take, the music cuts out but there's no GPS audio telling me to turn. Seems like the music should cut out so that I could hear the navigation command but it just goes silent. Once I enter/complete the turn my music comes back on. I've check my audio setting to make sure that everything is going through the speakers and nothing is set to the headset. Anyone else experiencing this? My guess is that I have something not checked or setup properly. I've read the manual and played around with the settings for over an hour and still can't seem to resolve it.

The nav function has a separate volume control adjustment than the volume for the music source. Sounds like you haven't set your nav volume...

If adjusting the volume up while a prompt is being given (when the music cuts out) doesn't get you there, then you may need to go back to the audio setup menu & make sure the prompt option is set for speakers, not headset.

While that "silence" is happening, push the volume up. You have your nav prompt volume set to zero.

There are separate volume settings for nav prompt, music playback and intercom. You have to adjust the volume control while one of those particular things are happening.

If I am not mistaken... it's called feedback in the NAV setup menu.... you can adjust the volume of the NAV prompts ( make sure they are enabled) and beep volume

Yep, I too was frustrated by that when I first got my bike.

Turn off (disable) the Nav prompts instead of turning down its volume if you don't want to hear it.

* edit *
page 46 of the boom box manual shows as: home>setup>feedback. That will be the menu to enable/disable or view and change prompt and nav beep volumes. You can change volume on the fly, if quick and adjust while it speaks, but must enable/disable from this screen.

Default Nav

Try hitting the replay and adjust volume on hand control as it replays the navigation message I had to this a couple of time to get the volume where I wanted it

As you update the software on your boom system you should also download the latest manual as features are added or minor changes can take place.
