Hey Reiter, I checked out the Mean City website. How long did you have to wait for an appointment with them? Also when I looked at the Super Narrow it said they can move u up, down, forward, or back... I'm thinking of having them lower my position an inch along with the narrowing. Did you move your position? And I'm thinking of getting the new soles too.
tcar321is correct, they'll ask for your height, weight, and inseam. Give them a call. Lori with Mean City Cycles was very helpful.

I'm 5'8" with a 28" inseam and was not able to flat foot my 14 Street Glide; read about Mean City Cycles and their super narrow mod. It's cold and boring here in ND, so I thought I would try to do the mod myself. Took all of 30 minutes and made a difference for me as now I can flat foot it. I took the staples out of one side at a time and peeled back the foam and used a small cut off wheel to take the protruding part of the pan off. Then I trimmed the excess foam, smoothed the area where I cut, then stretched and re stapled the cover with my electric staple gun. I'll try and post a few pix; didn't get the memory foam in but my objective was to narrow the nose so I could feel more comfortable at the lights.

+1 on the Mean City Cycles mod. I had mine done back in January, and while up I haven't had the chance to put any miles in it yet, I can say that the Super Narrow got my feet nearly flat in regular shoes, and with my boots on, I'm good (also 5' 6" with 29" inseam.) Also had them do the heater mod while it was there. Much more $ sense then buying a new seat and having the original one cluttering up your garage, too. Alan and Lori at MCC are great folks to work with. I would do the seat first before you start monkeying with the suspension, contrary to some earlier posts. Just MHO though. Good luck!
To the guy that modded your seat yourself: that took some serious *****. Holy ****.

You can, but there is sacrifice.
I did it, bought new take off air shocks from a '13, had to buy new air fittings, as the '14s mount different, and I put Burley Blocks on.
PLENTY of clearance around the inside of the bags, and I could not get it to bottom out, I'm 285.
I know everyone says you might rub, either the underside of the fender or the inside of the bag, but my experience is different. Had ZERO issues.
You do sacrifice the better ride of the premium shocks....

Thanks for info. I ran take off 12" air shocks on my old Iron 883. Made the ride a lot better.
I'm thinking about trading in my fatboy lo for a street glide special. With a 27-28" inseam I need to get the bike lower. I'll have to ditch my Dr. Martens boots for regular higher heeled boots, as well as seat mod/different seat and lower the front 1". It would be nice to get the rear a bit lower as well. I only weigh 185 (and dropping), and the wife doesn't weigh that much her self.
