I used these pictures as a guide to disassemble the fairing and rotated the bars down and back, then rotated the grips as much as possible. I took the bike out for a ride after changing the angle and have a position that I can live with. Perhaps the sweeps would have been a better selection.
Im sorry to hear that , every shop i know will call the customer into the shop when the bars are on the bike to allow for a final adjustment before tightening the 4 bolts holding the clamp.

All is well. I'm not unhappy with the dealer's service. I'm glad I had a chance to take the fairing cap off to see how it comes apart.

Thanks JT, I did my bars last weekend and your tutorial was extremely helpful. Basically, you saved me $900, which is what my dealer would have charged me. Took me a slow afternoon and there it is, done.

Default Reduced Reach HD Bars Part Number

If anyone was wondering, I have confirmed with the dealer that the part number for the reduced reach bars for 14-15 batwing touring bikes is 55800305. This is the part number for the handlebars on the limited low and limited ultra.

Thanks Smokie...I ordered the bars today and won't have them until next week. Just concerned because the ultra low has smaller diameter hand grips according to advertisements. Does this mean my grips won't work? More important....the twist control.

From what I can tell by looking at them side by side in the showroom; the bars are the same diameter. It is simply smaller grips (non heated).

Hi JT HD,
I have the Khrome WerksŪ Part # 300077 2+2 bars and wanted to know if you think I need to change the brake or clutch hydraulic lines for these? I have used the 2" pull backs before on my last 2011 Limited and they were great but wanted a little higher as well. Thanks much for the outstanding write up. You ever thought about going to work for one of the motorcycle magazines?
Have a great day my friend,
Ken

I cannot find this part number on the HD website. The search results are coming back with nothing. Is there supossed to be a dash somewhere in there?
