Just changed my rear tire from a 180/55/ 18 to a 200/55/18 on a 5.5 inch wheel. That put the front 23 and the rear below 10% difference.
After about 1 minute at 60 mph the ABS light still comes on. Looks like that it will have to be a lot closer to the factory specs to make any difference.
Surely HD will have to offer an update to address the issue. Hopefully it won't take a tragic accident (and a huge lawsuit) that ABS or linked brakes could've prevented, to get it done.

I hope that you get this figured out but, if the ABS does not work correctly due to you altering the vehicle than I doubt very much, (lets all hope that it does not happen) if some gets hurt and try's to sue HD I don't think they will have a case.

You are exactly right. The lawsuit will be against whoever changed the wheels to ones that weren't correct for the bike. It would be an unauthorized modification.

How would a 200/55/18 from a 180/55/18 change the height? Look to me as you only went wider. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The side wall measurement is a % of your width

The side wall is not a fixed measurement. On the tire above you calculate it by the following:

200mm x 55% = 110mm

Stock would be 180mm x 55% = 99mm

So the later tire is 11mm taller than the stock tire in this case.

Avon also bases their dimensions on the tire being mounted on a 6 inch wheel. I'm running a 5.5 so the sidewall height in my case is actually about 15 mm taller than the 180/55 I was running. It's the tallest combo that will fit inside the factory swing arm, but It's still not enough to correct the issue.

Ok rode over 800 miles this weekend with the fix I posted earlier. No issues at all. For those that missed it here you go:

Sensor, Wheel Speed
part# 40615-08

Ball Bearing 25mm ID/18M
part # 9252

The second part corresponds to the PM Wheels. Other wheels might need a different part number from what I understand from Old Glory HD.

Just picked up my '14 SGS this weekend. Dealer installed a 21" front wheel before purchase.
ABS light blinked and went off as the book states.
As i was riding home on the freeway the ABS came on and stayed on the rst of the ride home.
Taking it back to the dealer and will advise.
