Expecting the belt and sprocket to last forever is like expecting tires to last forever, so I didn't include those in the list above.

My cam tensioner didn't look bad. In fact I may be able to find a picture of it.
My belt at 60k miles still looks good, the rear sprocket looks like some of the chrome is gone, may replace that soon but am confident the belt should go another 60k miles easy unless I have to open the primary for some reason then will do a belt change if that comes up.
That is good life for a stator, I once had to change on a Suzuki GS1000 that failed at 32k miles.

washing and waxing every week will have your stator lasting forever too.

I am not saying I don't do mainteance. I replace many things based on age, that are still working. It is what we do at work too. But many harley folks like to wait for their belt to break on way to work, or way home from bar.

Old wider belt was good at 90k when I replaced. newer style 2003?? pac manned around 55k. Mechanic friend says 50k is when you should replace. I know when I say this people look at me like I took a dump in the living room.

Personally I think many things around 50k should be considered for change, when the time is right,

You better check the brake lines.

It is good to hear high mileage M8's holding up so well!

For those of you with high miles, did anyone do the crankcase vent that I keep reading about? Some act like it is absolutely necessary.

I'm currently bike shopping to replace my 15 Road Glide. I’ve gone back and forth on bat vs shark and have decided I’m fine with either, just shopping the best deal.

I’ve ran across a 2019 Street Glide Special in that dark Denim Red color and black trim, wheels, guards etc.. bike looks stock other than seat and maybe audio upgrades. It’s got the 114ci power plant. Taken in on trade at an Indian dealer and looks to be very well kept, and trusted with 60K miles on it.

What should I be looking for specifically to ensure it’s healthy and I’m not buying a bomb? I’ll have compression and leak down test done for sure also.
you should be looking for another bike. I would not buy a bike starting out at 60k miles unless it has a sub 5k price tag.

Looks like you may not have bought a bike since the 2012 in your signature. In a perfect world sure. But EVERYTHING is expensive. That’s a decent deal for that bike but not a steal I’m aware. It belonged to a service managers wife since new and she traded to an indian. That’s one of the reasons I’m not super messed up over miles. It’s been well taken care of apparently.
