Default Case vent

I know this has been covered before but I just did the install myself and wanted some input. I have read a bunch of material on how bad the oil breathers in the air cleaner are. I checked the prices on purchasing a dipstick vent and said no way. Fueling wants 300 bucks for a dipstick with a rubber hose. So I figure what's so hard about venting a dipstick and drilled a hole in an old one, stuck on a coupling and ran a little hose. It will work or it wont, oh well. So I did not plug the holes in the air cleaner, but I did remove the little rubber hoses that dump into the throttle body. Cleaned it up nice and I'm gonna do a big ride tomorrow and see if there is a mess in the air cleaner. Just wondering what would happen if I plugged the air cleaner vents. Opinions?

Opinions?
My opinion: Best leave well enough alone.

1,000s of Harley's out there without the snake oil breathers and other such stuff and they have been running just fine for miles and miles.

For every action taken there can be an equal reaction either in the positive or negative.

If I looked a bike that was for sale and saw that setup, I would turn and walk away.

What year bike? I installed a vented transmission cover from the 24 model CVO on the 21RGL earlier this year, about 85 bucks and ran the hose out the back and up by the ABS module with a small filter. JMO but I think it makes for a cleaner looking install as unless looking close would never see it. I left the air cleaner breathers in tact, will see if getting much oil residue next air filter cleaning.
