I just stick my hand in my pants and get some sweaty gritty ball sweat and that usually does the trick.

Don’t over tighten and you’ll be fine. If you get wax on it, it’ll be a pain. I like the suction cup idea.

I always use spray sunscreen for that reason. no slimy fingers.
