People make snarky comments, yes, we all do sometimes.

Stop worrying about it and listen to people who know what they are talking about, they may have a little fun with you, but they are really trying to help.

If you follow the service manual, you will see that the hub nut is torqued or un torqued while the clutch is still assembled as a unit.

Forget about neutral, it makes not one bit of difference if the transmission is in gear or not.

Reassemble the clutch, then, using a locking bar, torque the hub nut, done.

Don't forget...The compensator, clutch, and primary chain are installed at the same time (it`s in the manual ).

The inner clutch basket would spin even with the locking bar in place. ...and I can read. I DID install the comp. sprocket and clutch at the same time - per the manual.

Several people gave you solid advice. Any pictures of the work you're doing? That may help

Ride safe!

I wound up upgrading to the Screamin Eagle Assist & Slip Clutch Kit. Super-easy installation.

Of course the clutch hub spins, the clutch was missing the plates and disks, you have already been told that.

I never said you can`t read.

Here`s a tip: when you are looking for help, don`t be a dick when you respond to the people who are taking time out of their day trying to help you.
