I don't hate the FLHR, rode across country. But without a fairing I do not consider it a touring bike, but rather a big cruiser. Plus it should also have a trunk for touring.

The Road King is a GREAT bike. I don't like too much bodywork, but do like a good set of saddlebags. My biggest desire is llow weight. These newer bikes ( harley and others) are very heavy. True, there are design improvements, so you'll have to weigh the pros and cons of each year of Road King. I personally love the Twin cams. Before 2009, the FLs were lighter. This is due to The Motor Co.s frame redesign in 2009. That redesign increased many bike's weight by as much as 70 lbs, on some. I've heard the M8s are lighter, but I personally don't like the m8. Before 2007, some twin cams had problems with cam chain tensioners ( but not all- I've seen many tc88s with over 60k miles).
Personally, I would look for a 2007 -2008 with low miles. It wont be the "Latest or Greatest", but will be a great ride for low bucks. That's my take on it - good luck!

Crash bar and primary are scraped up. I wouldn't bother. Primary cover is easy you want too. Crashbar for ,me was PIA, but maybe deer bent tabs on bike.

But I know if I look at my bikes I am sure the bottom of the crashbar is scraped, and I bet atleast one has scraped primary if I were to get on ground and look.

Next time you put it down, will happen again. I would not waste my time time or money. Lots of better uses for both. You will have to lay on ground to see the scrapes I bet.

I wasn't saying he should fix it, although I might .
My point was have a pro/dealer look at it, 1st to make sure nothing seriously wrong, 2nd to have a dollar amount in hand to negotiate with. Hypothetically $2000 to repair makes a $10000 bike a $12000 bike. Why guess on either?

As i said not bad to have dealer look at it, but not all areas have a dealer or indie. If it rides good and everything looks good, i wouldn't worry. its 10k bike not brand new. But maybe I am a little reckless.

You can look up cost of bar and primary. As seller I would blow you off on bar for sure. Primary, maybe I would give you $100. Probably $500-600 in parts brand new. I would look saddle bags over, and everything else. Bars.

I know atleast one my primaries is scratched up, I would have to crawl down and look to see which.

I found the right one guys. Thought I would share with you all. I am so excited. Picked her up yesterday. This is 30 years coming!!

A 2020 Road King with 11K miles. When I heard the Reinhart mufflers sound, it sealed the deal. It was love at first sight and It came with a Touring Pack also with speakers attached. I took off the passenger back back rest, rack, windshield and also the vented front fairings. I stripped it down except for the speaker system on on the handle bars. I was going to remove it but I connected it to my phone and now I'm torn. I kind of liked it. I'm sure the seller paid a few bucks to have it installed at the dealership. Thank You

Looks good. Put the tour pack back on, and ride it more.
