Need Advise Please-Used Road King Purchase

I am narrowing down my search guys. Really loving this one. It is about a 3.5 hours away if I decide to buy this one. 2015 Road King Stock with 15K miles. 2nd owner who is an older gentleman. He says he bought it about 4 years ago. Had it fully serviced including brakes rotors and new tires then put about 500-1K miles on it until he got sick beginning of least season. Says he drove it about 100 miles last season and none so far this season. He also mentioned he dropped it 3 times with minimal scratches and the highway foot pegs took the scratches. What do you guys think? I got him down to 10K which is my budget. Dealer maintained and garage kept. Please give some input.

I know will be hair on fire insulting my mother, but new frame is almost a draw back for me. More cramped in the legs I don't really care one or other. What is a plus is 2014 saddle bags. those old bags were Harley's way of insulting customers. Look what we can do, and they will pay us.
I ride daily back and forth new and old frame. Both in a day sometimes. I am not an aggessive rider.
They are getting heavy, and harder to pick up, atleast the dressers are.

Agreed smitty! It certainly did change my mind about the Touring line after I finally put some miles on a Rushmore. Having only ridden '06, '07, and '08 baggers prior to that, I would always hop back on my Dyna and ride circles around my friends on their big bikes.

Late to this party... But, your situation sounds so much like mine. I researched and looked around for a good six months before I was able to make a move...focusing on Heritage Classics early on and then evolving to Ultra's shortly after, before settling on the Road King as what I really wanted to go after. Same as you, I then narrowed down to the Rushmore-era HO Twin Cam 103 models or early M8's. Lots of bikes were out there, but most guys were asking too much for them. That's where the research pays off. Eventually, a 2017 RK popped up with a listed price right in the center of the sweet spot. As it turned out, it already had a Stage 1 upgrade, stainless braided lines, and the full LED light treatment - all stuff I was looking at having to do myself. I picked it up last Black Friday. She runs great. The previous owner told me he had done nothing to the motor. So, as far as I know, the original oil pump is still there. Keeping an eye out for the sumping issue, but nothing so far. I will eventually swap that out, and upgrade to an S&S cam plate, etc. at some point.
At the end of the day, if the 2015 you are looking at runs well and makes you happy, that's all that matters! You'll probably be like me and not believe she is sitting in the garage every time you see her. :-)
