Default Whats up with the m8's not just the 107?

What's up with the M8's I'm wondering if anyone out there can tell me when my engine was manufactured in my 2022 Harley Road King that was built in York PA and sold in CA February 2022. using the Vin 1HD1FBC26NB605050 because of all the problems there having, with the M8, crankcase venting problems, thus leading to blown Rear head gaskets oil leaks from, not installing a oil cooling fan in hot weather, without fan it over heats and goes into , Prade mode over heating in stop n go traffic, Harley is aware of oil pump failure etc. Now I heard this was commend in pre-2020's M8's ,back to the 107's from 2017. that they were supposed to upgrade the oil pumps in 2020's M8's and up, however I read they didn't upgrade the oil pumps in the 2022 FLHI Road Kings until Mid-May 2022 and my bike was sold according to my pink slip, in Feb 2022. so my question is can anyone tell me by looking at the bikes vin, when my engine was built before it was installed in the bike, what year? or how do you find out if it has any of the issues that I've been reading about over the net, listed above. There should be a way to find out so someone can make up their mind whether or not to buy an extended warranty thru Harley who of course contracts it out to an unsuspected Vendor. Mine says 2022 on pink slip because of date sold and I'm wondering if Harley because some bike didn't sell till years later that they just register 2017, 18, 19, 20, 21's to the year they sold because they look exactly alike with no changes. and like I said, those bikes all had bad to failure oil pumps that Harley was very aware of. I don't understand why Harley fully knowing the problems didn't place on oil cooling fans. Can anyone help answer my question when my motor was built before it went into the bike? you can contact me at tours77@yahoo.com I watched a you tube video where the man said there's a class action suit in the works against Harley. the url is

M8s had the earlier MY major reported issues and problems resolved by MY 2020. btw your bike does have an open brake light recall on the HD Owners page when pulling to up with VIN. other than that, read less and ride more

Things like this give me no compelling reason to "upgrade" my 2014 103 HO to a later M8.

Yes the brake light was addressed by the dealer before I bought the bike, however thank you for the heads up but my question still remains because the warranty ran out in February 2024 I turn down the extended warranty before I read all the issues they are having with the Harley m8's

Ridiculous... They come off the assembly line with a VIN number stamped on all major components. That VIN tracks that bike from inception to completion. It is coded to tell when the bike was built. They cannot and do not change model years based on sales date. You can go to a dealer and buy a brand new left over 2022 if they have one in stock. It does not make that bike a 2024 model year magically. As stated above, ride more...

completely up to you and your individual preferences and comfort level... you don't have a Fairing and Infotainment Center so don't have to worry about that potential failure / expense..R U going to ride it a ton, and far from home trips and plan to keep it for many many years? you can negotiate on the ESP contract price there or some other dealership .. but all the things you state you are fearful of happening are overblown or non-existent on your 22 which should be be a very reliable machine

There is no need to Yell when leaving messages. We're reading your message, not listening to it.

That one video is 5 years old.

Damn, Tours, that's a lot of paranoia in one post.
Get off the PC and go riding, man.

My 2021 Road King has 22,556 miles on it. No any issue besides the brake light recall. Enjoy your 2022 RK.
