Hello all, i recently purchased a 2016 SGS from the original owner, and i noticed it has a tail light above the signal light bar.
I live in Canada, i havent noticed many with a tail light on any youtube vids or photos, is this just a Canadian thing? , or certain Provinces?.
Also it has the Tri-Bar at the bottom of the fender , it is all wired but doesnt come on, the original owner said it never did,
Any info into this would greatly be appreciated, i would like to get the tribar to light up.

 

Are you sure that’s a tail light and not a red reflector?

As far as the tri-bar light, you’re gonna have to do some troubleshooting. Got a digital multimeter?

The original owners stated that he never changed anything, other than the seat and slip-ons which the dealer installed, and it was dealer maintained, he gave me all the records and invoices.
When i searched kijiji or facebook marketplace, some around this area have the same set up and some do not?

 

It must be a Canadian thing.

 

CANADIAN law, has to have a center light, the others you saw must have been imported, or they recently changed the law.

 

It's the international setup. All those I've seen outside the US are like that.

 

Canadian models are different. Center mounted brake light. Tri-bar light is inoperable on Canadian models.

 

Technically it's illegal in the US to not have a single center mounted light on a motorcycle as well. It's been ignored for some time now.
It's possible that a local jurisdiction kicked up an enforcement fuss and the dealership or Harley converted the bike to comply.
