They haven't gotten the Space Invaders update for their service computers yet. They're still on Pong.

Got mine installed and flashed earlier this week, works perfectly. Used it right away, I think I can get used to having it!

Sorry for the noob question, but what hardware/software does a guy need to handle stuff like this?

I've got a basic OBDII scanner, plus an adaptor for a previous Yamaha, but I'm guessing this ain't it.

I have the OBD STAR I scan Harley, was simple to enable the side stand switch feature.

I have Diag4Bike, got it thru HardDrive, and TechnoResearch you can buy their stuff directly from them... both can be a bit pricey, but they are a bit more than scanners. Kinda depends on what you're willing to spend, what you want to be able to do, and how many bikes you want to be able to use it on.

Installed my sensor (pretty straight forward as everything is there) and took it to the dealership for the "enable". They wheeled me right in. I removed the saddlebag & side cover. It took the service manager longer to hook up the Digital Tech than the actual procedure to enable it. Mine was the first they've done so he was happy to learn about this option that is available for RDRS equipped bikes. As I've mentioned, his own Pan America comes stock with this operational. I tried paying him...he wouldn't let me. Next time I'm there in my truck I'll take a case of beer for him and his guys. They always appreciate beer

It works perfectly as designed. Hill hold now works in neutral and kills the engine if in gear and the side stand is put down (even with the clutch pulled in). Still starts and runs on the side stand if in neutral. If in gear and the side stand is put down a "Side Stand" message scrolls across the odometer window now. Love it!

I bought it mainly for the hill hold enhancement, but the side stand message is a nice reminder that your 2023 Harley has finally caught up to a 1983 Yamaha, lol.

I use to think that a side stand safety was over kill, even disabled it on a BMW and a Kawasaki I use to own but as I get older have a time or two taken off with the stand down so am glad I installed the safety switch to remind me in case I have an occasional brain freeze and forget to raise the stand.

So Harley just enables the JSS. Were they blowing smoke about having to come up with a "patch" to get the hill hold in neutral for us with RSDS?
