I filled the tires earlier today before riding. Probably won't get to ride again for about a week anyway, so we'll see what the gauge says then. I set them both at 40 psi cold. TPMS showed as high as 47 rear and 45 front while riding today. Hopefully, they will still be in the upper 30's at least by next weekend. I know the spec for the front is 36 psi, but a little extra pressure makes the steering a bit lighter in low speed turns.

Ya I wonder if splitting hairs with 2 pounds. Doesn't manual say 36 pounds too?? Not 45? But again I am not sweating 2 pounds, unless it adds up over few days to more.

Both tires slow leaking ? I’d be suspicious of the gauge. Maybe try different style gauge?

I think his gauge is tracking with his TPMS if I read correctly

He’s loosing air every time he checks his tire pressure.

Correct. I check the TPMS each time before I ride. Each day, for several days in a row, the tires were low. Topped them up with the air compressor and the gauge and the TPMS both agreed they were set correctly. Next day, same thing, etc.

I could understand having issues with one tire but not both! Don't overthink it.....

2 pounds. I question accuracy. , come back in a few days and see. But yes if he did lose 6 pounds over 3 days, I would call that a leak. But 2 lb a day,

Not sure what I am saying is so strange. Let it sit for a few days and check to to 5-10 lbs, not 2.

If your adding a couple pounds every few days to keep the tire(s) at 36F/40R cold... you got a slow leak. If you have HD's TPMS, check around the base of the valve stem, not just the core. HD's TPMS valve stems just have an o-ring in between the wheel and the valves stem, on the outside. They're tightened down from the inside of the wheel, so it kinda sucks if thats where they are leaking from... but the soapy water will find it. Years ago I had one bike that the tire would not seal good around the rim... slow leaked until time for a new tire, then cleaned the wheel all the way around both sides, and the new tire seated better and sealed.

FWIW, when I'm riding and get back in at the end of the day, I regularly see 43F/47R, or more, every morning, when they have cooled, they're back to 38 or 39F and 40 or 41R, depending on ambient temperature. It's usually a month or two before they move even a couple pounds down.
