I think I solved the problem, started by taking console off and giving the big plug the wiggle test, significant click. Turn on ign and gas gauge works. Doing a few other things before I can road test. Yes I’ve had the tank off so I take responsibility for it.

I will follow up

Glad you found it, was going to say check the wiring. Mine did the same thing on a long ride and it turned out to be one if the wires in the gauge connector slipped loose and would intermittently short in the wind.

I would like to install this new style transmission cover so I went out to the garage to eyeball that area. Boy, it sure looks like it will come really close to the wires and end of the O2 sensor. Any of you guys that have done this notice this or have any comment on the fit ?

I disconnection 2 wires and didn't touch O2 sensor. Takes a bit of playing to position this cover in but no less than a 1 min. Removing old one with 6 screws require some playing around especially small middle screw behind cylinder but 3/16 tip on tiny ratchet got the job done no issues. Literal15 min swap for the whole deal.

Everything is working as it should. I do have a low air pressure light because the last 6k + miles has been with a Yokohama 195/60-16 on the rear running 32-34 psi cold.

I should have found this on the road, I was two bolts away and even thought about it.

Yep. It's close to the wires from the O2 sensor. Not a problem though.

I've been reading down through this thread and waiting for this post. Congratulations on the first ride & getting your new toy home.

Also, found two things Ima have to get for my '23 RKS. So far......

Taking mine to the dealer next week to see if they can diagnose my belt whine between 30mph and 50mph. Adjusting belt deflection has no impact on the whine.

Mounted a zumo xt2 recently and the improvements are substantial, even has a rear view camera. I’ve always liked Garmin products.

Here are the stock and new transmission covers compared (new on top).

Here's a video from H-D showing how the new breather works.
https://youtu.be/5z-h86_t7tY

I routed a 9mm ID silicone rubber vent line from the breather fitting out the rear of the bike as you can see here.

I removed the stock rubber breather tubes that direct combustion blow-by and oil vapor into the intake. The throttle body was noticeably sooty and oily inside. I replaced the stock breather bolts with 3/8-16 x 1.5" button head cap screws and plugged the small hole for the stock breather tube in the back of the air filter with a 5/16" rubber grommet style plug from an auto parts store.
Thanks for this post @Hulkss . Got my updated cover installed yesterday and have a question regarding replacing the breather bolts. How much, if any pressure is there? I put these rubber caps over the end of the breather bolts and they fit pretty snug. I'm assuming they would serve the same purpose...provided they stay there. Your thoughts?
