The 2023 Road King FLHR Lives On As The FLHP

I was mounting new tires today, so I installed the front fender bumper # 59600046. It bolts to an extra hole in the fender by the fork sliders. You need to get a 1/4" diameter bolt with a very low profile head. As posted previously, there is a less expensive option that seems to fit OK.
FYI, my stock Dunlop tires are worn down to the wear bars front and rear at 13000 miles.

The police seat with suspension improves ride comfort on long ride days.
I prefer the rubber mounted engine. Less vibration in the bars and footboards. The engine feel is "smoother" but still there.
I prefer the sound of the stock exhaust with CVO mufflers to the sound of staggered dual pipes on the Heritage.
Handling in curves is good on both bikes. Ride harshness on bumps is about the same on both (aftermarket shocks on both bikes, RK needs the suspended police seat).
I did not like the gear whine of dual counter-balancers in the Heritage.
I much prefer the larger hard saddle bags on the Road King.
The Heritage had a lame single disk front brake. I could smell it "cooking" at stops. Front pads needed frequent replacement.
I appreciate the rider safety enhancements (RDRS) on the Road King.
I don't notice hardly any difference in the weight of the two bikes.
Wind protection is the same on both bikes.
I like the larger gas tank on the Road King with more fuel range.
I prefer the look and image of the Road King.
I'm happy to have changed bikes.

My rear pulley (sprocket) is shot after only 13000 miles. The chrome is shedding off the teeth. The bare aluminum will not last long. Looks like old used pulleys on eBay.
I suppose it would not outright fail for a long time, however, the rough finish can't be good for the belt. Bye bye $284.

I just ordered some Custom Dynamics Gen 4 amber/white halo free LEDs to run in my front turn/run lights (1157 bulbs some stock). I ran these Gen 4 CDs n my last two Glides.
I put the Paradise LEDs in the front and rear turns first, and they seem plenty bright in rear, and I am told the same by riders following me, but they look washed out and nearly not as visible in front, especially when the bike is facing the sun, regardless of whether I run stock amber lenses, or either the white/clear or yellow lenses that Paradise ships.
It may be the contrast with the brighter Paradise headlight LEDs, and the HD LEDS that the dealer put in the auxiliary lights when they removed the red and blue emergency lights.
I’ll see how the Custom Dynamics compares in the front run/turn signals..

Interesting - I would be pursuing a warranty item for this.

I believe the pulley is a "wear item" not covered by warranty. If it was covered, I'd have to put the worn pulley back on the bike and ride to the dealer so they could service it. I happened to have a new rear pulley that I bought for my 2014 Street Glide and did not use. That bike wore out the pulley riding to Alaska and back. Seems that dirt roads and loose chip seal can be a problem.

Had to add something to compliment the new front fender rail: new trim rings for the headlamp and passing lamps. The center one fits perfectly over the stock ring, keeping the stock rubber head lamp seal in place to keep water out of the nacelle. A better fit, look, and function than the other trim ring I was using. The rings have a sort of heavy-duty locomotive look to them that I like.

Also have the Paradise lights LEDs and the front fender rail that @gonemad shared inbound. Hopefully the fender rail fits without issue.
