The 2023 Road King FLHR Lives On As The FLHP

I posted earlier that I was planning to keep the stock shocks on the bike. I do believe that the 13" shocks are "acceptable" with the sprung police seat.
I really like the long travel rear suspension on my current Softail Heritage and I don't want to be regretting my switch back to the Touring chassis. I have a 3500 mile ride planned the week after I get the bike.
After some study about rear shock options for a day, Super Shox was at the top of my shock options list. I also discovered that my H-D dealer is a Rep for Super Shox and offered a discount to put them on the new bike.
Brian at Super Shox recommended their 14" long travel shock with a fitting that relocates the shock mount reward on the swing arm so that the bike is not raised up. This also avoids interference between the axle and mufflers with a long travel shock.
I like the Super Shox classic monotube design with damping rates engineered and built for the application. I do not like the complexity and cost of adjustable damping shock designs that I set and forget, never really knowing if I have them set the best. The other feature I like is the hand adjustable preload where the threads are enclosed, sealed, and lubricated. I have had preload adjusters with exposed threads seize up from dirt and corrosion in the threads.

Two months ago I bought a 2016 Low Rider from a shop in MN, to add to my current bikes. Been busy transferring funds, notarizing bills of sale, etc, etc...And it is currently on it's way to SoCal with the transport company...
I looked yesterday and I've got $1K of parts/accessories sitting on my work bench, in my little M/C garage/shop, just waiting for it to get here....
I finally stopped myself from buying anything else untilI it arrives and I get caught up with my installs...!
