The 2023 Road King FLHR Lives On As The FLHP

More gear for the bike:
These custom shaped tool pouches work great. They keep heavy, seldom used tools, out of the way in space that is mostly wasted at the bottom of the saddlebags.

This is a great thread. Thanks for sharing all of your research on this Hulkss.
I am now considering jumping through the hoops required to buy an FLHP.
The wife doesn't ride much with me anymore, tho she used to have her own Superglide.
Question: can anyone make a suggestion of some kind of a removable passenger seat that will work with the pogo? Doesn't have to be pretty.
Thanks

I ordered a set of Kuryakyn brand toe rests that mount on the engine guard. Never have used them. I think they will work well with the new brake arm and footboards I posted earlier.
I don't like the look or feel of highway pegs and I am not comfortable with my feet that far from the controls.

Terrific thread.....thanks!
Regarding the top case, is it side opening or aft/fore? If aft/fore, any concern about hitting the back of the back rest with the lid when flipped open?
Would you know if it fits a full face helmet?
I bought an RG107 with Stage II Torque kit last year. I hadn't even considered this option of a Police Road King. Very cool idea, and I think it's going to look great when you're done.
IIRC, your Heritage had the Stage II setup? If so, surprised you wouldn't go that route again.

I'm going to try the 114 engine stock. If I find myself riding with the throttle wide open and I'm getting the feeling: hmmm....this is lame, then I'll have to do something about it.
I don't put my helmet in my luggage. I use a Lid Locks helmet lock. Works great on my Schuberth helmet that does not have D-rings. They offer key-matching now.

The Police top case opens from the rear of the bike. It's not quite tall enough inside for a full-face helmet. Yes it would hit the backrest, however, the backrest hinges forward and down onto the seat.

I'm planning to do some mountain riding in May, so temperatures may get quite chilly. I ordered a set of Desert Dawgs soft lower wind deflectors.
These work great, especially if it's cold and the roads are wet.
