Default Handlebar Install - Wrong Clamp Size

I royally messed up. I ordered bars that have a 1.25" knurl, should have gotten the 1". They don't fit in the clamps. I figured when I told the manufacturer that I had a 2020 Road King FLHR, they would send me the right bars. Guess when I noticed it? AFTER I wired them and put the controls and grips on.
So, should I try to return them, or can I get a bigger clamp? Is it easier to rewire or replace the clamp? I'm lost here.
Was so proud of myself with the wiring too.

Check surdyke.com. Harley used to sell a hidden riser kit for Road Kings with 1 1/4" bars. I believe part # is 55900067. I believe there are some aftermarket options also.

I believe the clamps for the Road King Specials are 1 and a 1/4 so you could just purchase a set of them.

Buy a 1.25” clamp and get polyurethane bushings as well since you’ll have it apart.

Road King riser HD Part Number 55900067A.

I used this riser to install the Harley Davidson Fat Handlebar on my `16 Road King (this part will fit the `20 FLHR).

It fits under the stock chrome riser cover.

This riser is for a handlebar that is 1-1/4 inch diameter.

I brought this up in my first post. I bought this to try to install Road Glide bars on 2014 Road King I had at the time. It was a fail. I actually had this kit laying around until a couple weeks ago when I read a thread where another member was wanting to put 1 1/4" bars on a 2012 Road King. I contacted him and sold the kit to him. I did some research this morning and found that the individual pieces listed for a 2020 Road King Special are essentially the kit. Surdyke still list the kit for sale. I've listed their prices below.

Riser Kit 55900067A - $50.14
Upper Clamp 55900050 - $30.13
Lower Clamp R/H 55900051 - $30.70
Lower Clamp L/H 555900052 - $30.70

As you can see the kit is a much better value.

Just get the ones for your bike (1" clamp), that way you don't need to change the clamps.
I just installed the KST Pathfinder 10" on my 2020 RGS and VERY pleased with the adjustability and build quality.
Also, internal wiring of the bars was the easiest I have ever done, it took me 5 minutes on the throttle side and 1 minute on the left side.

The 1.25" bars on the stock RGS and RKS are really for looks and Harley changed the clamp area to 1.25" to simply manufacturing process of the bars.
Not for anything functional.
