So I've been hearing a rattle for a little while now from my ride side exhaust. Nothing major, just a slight rattle.
Well last week it went from a slight rattle to a rather loud rattle. So I pulled the muffler and found the baffle was cracked. Well not cracked but broken at the head pipe end. So there was a piece just rattling around.I removed the broken piece and reinstalled the baffle. And now the whole thing rattles and it's a REALLY loud rattle. The back end of the baffle is just bouncing around in there.
So I tried to contact RC Components about ordering a set of baffles. Or course I got no answer after about 10 attempts to contact them.
So now I'm pulling the baffles out completely and putting in a set of TTIs from DK Performance. I hope it won't be too loud. I wanted some more volume but not pure straight pipes. Guess we will see, if I can ever get that unbroken baffle out of the left side muffler!

 

Still can't get that left side baffle out.
Went for a ride with the left side baffle in, right side with the TTI.
I think it may be too loud for my tastes. It is louder with just one baffle removed. I expect a bit more when/if I get that other side out. However it is a much deeper sound though, but the volume increase is probably going to annoy me and my neighbors at 5am.
Hopefully I will hear from RC Components before long.

 

Finally got both baffles out. If you like loud then go with the TTI with no baffles. Bike pulls fine, runs fine, but just too loud for me. Guess I'm getting too old. My Dad came over and bought his welder so he fixed my broken baffle. Gonna put them back in and hope for no rattles!
