No, you should not change fluids right before a trip, but you should absolutely check them prior tho. If you are due for a change prior to the trip you should do them several weeks before hand and get miles under you before the trip. The rest of your list is checks, all of which should be done, the majority of which are part of your routine maintenance.

Looked at carbon build up near end of season.
I like using the Lucas brand of injector cleaner. They claim it will get rid of the carbon on top of the pistons. I scoped the cylinders when I put new plugs in a while back and sure enough there was carbon. I'll use the Lucas injector cleaner here and there over the summer and do the scope again after the last fall ride. If I remember I'll post again on the result. Anyhow I think keeping your injectors plus intake valves clean in spite of so called added in cleaning agents is a smart undertaking. Leaking valve guides seals are a good promoter of carbon build up as well with venting the crank case vapour in to your throttle body. Best of luck.

You're GTG with SeaFoam. I winterize with it and carry a can with a 2 oz shot pour spigot jambed in the top in my sissy bar bag. Every 2-3 tank fulls of 0E gas gets a shot of SeaFoam because of the single hose pumps and residual 10E fuel. Been doing this for years. It won't harm anything for sure. SeaFoam is nothing but naptha and pale oil combined so it isn't as aggressive or tricky to use as some of the other products out there.
