Chrome fork lowers installed. Need chrome bolts.
I’ve installed chrome lower fork sliders and covers on my 2014 Ultra Limited but it just doesn’t look complete. It’s lacking chrome plated bolts for the fender and brake calipers. Off I went to my nearest H-D dealer for help with this problem. The first thing I did was look at a new CVO with the same parts and it had the same dull looking bolts as mine does. The parts guy (who I consider knowledgeable) found a bolt kit for an older bike but nothing for a Rushmore bike. He is still working on it.
Has anyone else run into this or am I looking at these things a little too close? One of my riding partners always says “No one will ever notice at 60 MPH”. At this point I would even settle for chrome covers for the bolt heads.

***** Shiny includes a set of chrome plastic "license plate bolt" covers with their Chrome lower exchange; those covers fit perfectly to cover up the fender bolts. I then found a set of polished 12-point bolts (I think on eBay) to install the calipers.
is what I mean by "plate bolt covers". Here's a couple pics of what they looked like (I've since traded the Limited, but will be doing the same thing with my RGU).
Here's those "caps' initially installed.
Here's the front end back together with the polished rotor, Y-axle, chrome rotor bolts and you can see the polished 12-point caliper mounting bolts.
That was how the fork conversion turned out.

I was just going to say that. In fact, I lost a lower acorn bolt for my Springer retention rod. HD said two weeks. I went to ACE and found chrome ones and replaced the missing one and the non-missing one.
I think they were $2 each and Harley wanted $12 for one.

Be very careful replacing fasteners as the those bolts are likely a stronger grade.
You can use the Harley parts catalog on Harley's website to find the factory part numbers for the original hardware using your VIN number under the owner's section. All factory part numbers for your specific bike would be available there.
Use those part numbers on the following site to cross reference the actual diameter/pitch/length of the threads: https://www.jwboon.com/index2.php?co...Sidecar/Page_3
This is the only site I have found that lists the actual size of the hardware, all other sites will only provide a Harley part number. With the exception of the brake calipers, everything else is usually SAE. If you can't find the bolt on that website, you will have to go to the local hardware store to verify diameter and pitch.
Now, you can use the diameter/pitch/length of the original bolts to order chrome hardware. The site that offers the best selection of chrome hardware that I have found is allensfasteners.com. That site also lists the grade of the bolts. I did have to order 12 point heads for my triple tree when I swapped the forks out on my 2012 Sportster. I haven't done the chrome swap for my 2016 ultra yet but plan to this winter.
Good luck and hope this helps.
