Must be a matter of choice. Each time I prepare to turn the bike off, I simply reach for the kill switch. This way, I can keep my hands on the bars. I pull in, clutch in and hit the switch.

I am with others - could be the fob.

Try this, turn the ignition on, hit the kill switch and see what happens. Do you hear and noise. EFI should activate. If not, see if there is anything (Like enter PIN) on your screen.

Good luck

On my ‘16 RGS, the kill switch stopped shutting the engine down but allowed it to start thankfully. Got the switch pack replaced and there’s been no issues since.

OP here. I had my HD dealer check the kill switch issue while they were performing the 20,000 services. The cause of the problem was loose terminals at the switch pack. They were tightened and the switch now operates normally.

CVOs turn **** only has lock and unlock (for front forks) on them. Only the kill switch to stop the engine of the bike. Can't imagine how that's something to be avoided.

Here's my and my buddy's center switches. I would appreciate it if you would show me how to shut my bike off without using the kill switch, please. Maybe put it in gear and stall the thing every time? I'm guessing that would be worse on the machine than using the kill switch.

Before anyone says anything about "updated switches" or some nonsense, I had to replace the left switchset because the up/down XM station wouldn't switch channels and it's exactly the same switchset as anyone else with one except mine comes with backlighting from the factory.

the cvo's only use that switch for a fork lock, but the cvo's are the only bikes which use that switch as just a fork lock. all others its the ignition switch which supplies power for all functions. your bike is set up different it uses the kill switch to turn on and off power to the bike. so yes you have to use your kill switch.

When my fob battery was nearly drained, it would do the exact thing, Sometimes it would recognize, sometimes not. I brought my other fob in and it worked fine. You could use a volt meter to measure fob battery voltage.
