Front Brake Rotor Issues

What year is your bike?
I had an issue with my 2011 - front brakes warped and, at first, the service managed suggested that I didn't know how to ride the bike - was riding the brakes. When I covered my experience and he pully the brakes, they discovered there was an issue when the brakes were i9nstalled at the factory.
They replaces them under warranty - and I never had that problem again. I am trying to recall the problem - I somehow remember there was some yellow goo that was on the brakes.

Wow ... you would have thought the dealer found a solution after the 1st or 2nd time.
One thing for sure, its not you, its something with the system. Brakes are meant to be used and rotors should not warp, sorry . know this is no help.
I suspect cheap rotors but if so, is is a common issue with others from the M8 camp?

It sounds like either the front master or calipers are hanging a bit. You can try and clean the pistons if the have any brake dust build up that might be causing them to hang, while in there make sure the pads are installed correctly and free moving. You could also try and bleed the front system very well (try zip tying the front brake in the applied position over night) or rebuild or replace the master cylinder. One or all of those should likely resolve your issue.

Since 08 when my department got their first motor I have managed to warp a set on every motor that we have had. I admit that I am hard on the brakes when I ride, but, they should still not warp. It seems that the newer rotors that became available with the upgrade to Brembo brakes just don't seem up to the task to handle heat. I purchased my 17 RGS in October and it had warped rotors from the time I test rode it. I had to fight with the dealer to get them replaced because they kept saying that "they are in spec." After I told them that according to HD I could shove my first up my wife's ***** and HD would still call it tight, they got my point. Rotors got replaced.
