Tour Pak removal Pros & Cons ?
I have a 2015 Limited Low. On all the bikes I have had since the 70s, I have had a Tour Pak. Getting older now and don't go on long trips. Considering removing the tour pak and purchasing a back rest. I would do the whole deal with a quick change kit and quick change for the back rest. Don't know if I would buy a rack. Please tell me what you guys that have done this think. Pros and Cons. Does it make the bike feel a lot easier to handle when stopping? And Pictures if you have them would really be appreciated. Thank you.

Sure does.
The wife and I don't go longer than two days, so the Tour Pak isn't a necessity.
The bike handles easier and doesn't have the top heavy feel. (my complaint about an RK)
There are only 4 bolts to remove the TP and put on my homemade tag holder fastened
to the Backrest mount, and three wires(?) to unplug and wind up/tuck under the seat.
Here is my '15 and '18 Ultra Classics sans the Tour Pak....

Well I added a TP to my Street Glide with detachable hardware. I only use it when the wife rides. I have a Touring seat, solo seat, passenger pad and backrest also if I want.
My best PRO about not having the TP is getting on and off the bike. Conn... is when I run to the store and buy more than the saddle bags hold...lol

I just use the USB.
The NAV has its own antenna in the fairing.
I guess the antenna and the Backrest/detachable brackets are all I bought.......

I ordered the parts to have the quick detach tour-pak should be here next week. I have the filler lights between the fender and the saddlebags (run turn and stop). the kit comes with lights to stick on the saddlebags. My question is do I need them or will the filler lights work. and be good. Don't care much for the little lights on the bags and don't want to look like over kill on the back end with lights. 2014 Flhtk

I bought the detach kit and I am very pleased with how the bike looks and handles since I did it. I rarely run with the tourpak unless Im going on long rides. Only thing I miss about it when its not there is the rear speakers.
I would think as long as the filler lights flash with your turn signals it should be enough. But only people right behind you would be able to see it since they are sunk in a little.
I put the lights on my bags but dont have the fillers. They were a breeze to put on and they work very well.
