As you know, I think you know, I ordered the chopped Advan Tour pack in Amber whiskey.
However I decided to order the top luggage rack and detachable mounting bracket from an HD dealer on line.

I decided to go with the HD Hardware because I didn't want any problems with rusting as well as fit and finish. Price seemed reasonable compared to generic hardware too.

I was impressed that the hardware ware arrived from the desler in a matter of days but the Advan tour pack itself won't be here for most for over a month.

 

Well, its here! ADVAN Tour Pack Wow, I am impressed. Ordered it off the seller on Amazon on May 3rd expected delivery was end of June to very early July. Three weeks later it arrived from China or Hong Kong in Amber Whiskey. Very happy it got here May 20th.

INITIAL Impressions =

1. Paint seems excellent, can not find any flaws, Im impressed or maybe better said, relieved. )

2. Quality? Well, let me put it this way, not sure if I would be able to tell it apart from OEM HD or ADVAN. Based on other posts I thought the hardware would feel cheap, but it doesnt.

3. I did buy the OEM HD mount and luggage rack as I prefer HD brand but they didnt offer what ADVAN did (full backrest on a chopped tourpak and factory Amber Whiskey color)

4. All in all, I am very excited about choosing ADVAN and relieved that I cant find anything wrong with it. (I find something wrong with everything) The real test will be on the bike, will update, sometime in the future...

Ill up date when mounted and on the bike, not sure when I will have the time this week, if I have the time.

 

Nice, I'm excited to get mine, was their UPS tracking information close or correct? They say mine will arrive tomorrow

 

It shipped from China last Thursday and I received it Monday. They sent it air which impressed me. I don't know if that's always the case or not. I did have the tracking information on Amazon and it did show that it was at my post office Monday morning and ultimately arrived Monday afternoon

 

Wow, mine arrived today, just in time for my trip, quality looks very good, so I'm pleased.

 

Very cool, looks great, I guess it didn't take much effort to attach the mounting bracket and luggage rack?

Yeah, very easy, the pack onto the rack is a no brainer,,,, drilling the holes in the top is not a big deal... you just have to take time to make sure the rack is cinerted well.... all in all, I'm psyched.. leaving for the Wall RIde in DC at 6:30am tomorrow, 70-80% chance of rain,,, then heading to Athens Ohio for the first night.

Yeah it looks pretty simple and the extra care on the luggage rack is a sure thing.

Down here in South Carolina it's kind of fun to hit a rain shower and cool off but constant rain is a whole other story. Been there done that.
We will probably be out on a boat this weekend instead but hopefully I'll get a chance to get on the bike too.
I don't mind the heat but what you can see by our forecast below I don't mind a rain shower if I'm on the bike.

 

Looks good. Is that solo tour pack mount black? I've got the same set up, only with a chrome mount. Could not find a black mount.
