USB does not work with Navigation
Had a problem with Boom 6.5 on 2016 SGS. I have a flash drive I use with music while riding. Works fine, however when you use the Navigation for directions, the music will not play from the USB. However, I can get the radio to play? This only started happening at end of last year. Anybody have problems with this. Any solutions?

Assuming you're swapping USB sticks (music only on one, GPX files on the other one, You do put the music only USB stick back in the USB connector after you have uploaded your route data?
What software version are you running?
Sounds like it might be time for a radio reset.

I had the latest version of software loaded...I understand an update just came out. I loaded the ride with a separate USB and had selected it from TRIPS. I will try the radio reset and the new software. Just found it odd that I could get radio to play. Something must be disrupting the USB path with when the Nav is being used. Thanks for suggestions.

How big is the USB stick for music & how much music do you have loaded on it? I tried using a 32Gb loaded up to @ 85% filled & had some latency issues when it was busy with navigation. I think there were 2 issues causing my latency (symptoms included jerky nav response & slow/long indexing of music USB stick). Processor speed of the 6.5GT is marginal at best & too big of memory/too much music to index before the USB media works smoothly. I resolved my issue by reverting to smaller USB memory capacity (16 Gb) with @ 2,600 songs. When reinserting a music USB the system is supposed to recognize it's already been indexed but sometimes it doesn't & starts the indexing all over again.
I don't think this is your issue. I'm guessing a system reset will get things working again.
Good Luck!

This is a pretty good link that I wish they had when the Boom 6.5 was first introduced.

Like others have said i think it is a setting issue. If memory serves me correct there are settings that when using more than one feature it allows you to select which one is the most important and least important for simple terms.
I know I have used the phone, GPS and XM all at the same time. The unit allows you to select the one that will more or less over ride the other.
Good luck
