So, I answered my own question as far as this stuff being salvageable or not after you pull it off lol!

Yeah, the double stick tape is a tedious and almost painful procedure with the Goo Gone, but it's coming off slowly but surely and the inner fairing finish is not getting marred, so it'll be nice when it's done! Maybe another 1/2 hour or so.

Just saw this post. I have that exact trim set and screwed up mounting it several years ago, requiring me to pull off the crooked piece. It looked just like yours. No way to save that stuff!

I wasn't really sure what this stuff was made of until I grabbed a corner of it and pulled on it and it bent. Told myself it'll end up it the recycling bin as scrap aluminium and it did..........

2-1/2 painful hours later, a ton of Goo Gone, and a little polish and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. If you're thinking of sticking this stuff to your fairing, make sure you LOVE LOVE LOVE it because changing your mind and going backwards sucks, lol!
