Wonder if they didn't fill it back up by accident? Stranger things have happened.

It takes some time to purge the air out of the system. I had to top mine off several times before it remained at the full level.

The same thing happened on my 2014 limited at 32k after i had to have my water pump replaced during Sturgis rally. I kept checking the overflow bottle and all was good until about a week of riding when i found it completely empty. I refilled it and didn't have anymore problems after that. I know they rushed my bike through the pump replacement and just chalked it up to that. I've put on about 3000 miles since then and the bottle stayed full and no leaks ever found.

Any way you look at it, with 34,000 miles you are well on your way to burning up a coolant pump. Let's hope the "new" replacement pumps get rid of this worry long term.

yup. One of our riding buddies on a recent trip, has a ‘16 CVO with 50,000 Miles. Got the warnings lights. Called a dealer. Got a tow. 4 hours later they=P said it was the pump. They didn’t have one. But,they said ride on, and fix it when you get home. 1,500 miles later his bike made it home.

A lot of ideas so far....I have a 2014 Ultra Limited and here is what I would do.....carefully refill the tank and burp the air out per the Factory Service Manual. One thing about the Manual, it kind of understates the air burping process. It needs to say "fill the tank, roll the throttle forward to start the pump to get air out, add any needed fluid to get to the tank full mark".....then repeat the process 59 times!

Seriously, I changed my fluid last winter myself and ended up spending most of the afternoon carefully burping air out of the system, filling the resevoir tank back up, the repeating. Then going on a couple short rides to heat the system up and then repeating the burping process. I never had a bit of problem but I did think to myself there is no way a HD dealer would spend this amount of time unless they could give you a $700 labor bill for the job!

While this seems unlikely...if you really can't find any other leak, this might be worth investigating.

That was an interesting thread ^^. I never knew they had trouble like that. It took that fellow a year (and a lawsuit) to get HD to do the right thing and give him a new motorcycle.

I replaced my coolant earlier this summer. I let the pumps run for about 10 or 15 minutes after I topped it off, and it did release a bit of air.
Even so, I had to add an additional ounce or so in the following couple days.

If there are no leaks, it's most likely puking out the overflow hose.
