Personally I'd go 15 or 16 TC. I don't like to buy first year motors in any vehicle.....

At least go to the M8 forum and see what you might be getting into before you consider actually buying one!

That way, if (when) you get shafted, at least you will have been somewhat informed beforehand.

I bet there are 10 (if not 100 or more) M8 lovers than haters (counting those that actually have an M8).

At the very least, go for test ride!

The biggest haters on the forum are the ones that don't own one.

I have a 2017 M8 Road King. LOVE the bike, sold my 2007 deluxe and glad I made the change. The bike has been a solid runner with none of the M8 issues others have talked about.

Notorious M8 problems probably affects maybe 2 bikes out of 10,000, or ~ 0.02%.
Harleys recent recall for 2017 and 2018 M8 bikes with hydraulic clutch covers ~178,000 bikes in the US alone.

I also bought one of the first batch of 17 Road Kings with the M8 and couldn't be happier so far the only issue is not enough time to ride. O and I do check all my oils occasionally and have had no transfer or sumping

15 RGS Here. I bought it 11/16 with 6K miles. I hit 22k today and only issue I had was a head unit replacement under warranty for Bluetooth pairing issues. Oh and a brake fluid reservoir cap leaking which I noticed is leaking again today. In short. I have been pleased. I have no experience with the M8 however a couple of guys I ride with like theirs.

I put 8,000 miles on my ‘17 M8 RoadKing, with no issues. Then I traded it for a new ‘17 leftover Ultra Limited. I’ve had the Limited for 2 months, and have 6,300 miles on it...with no problems.
