Default Battery Tender

Just curious as far as the life of a battery tender. Anybody find that after a few years they start to fail. Mines about 4 yrs old and was wondering?
Thanks

I have two. One is a "regular" and it has been running for a long time, 10+ years. I bought a Jr. about 4 or 5 years ago and it is still working.

Several on tractors, lawn mowers, generator, 5 or 6 years old, all seem to be working fine.

Ive had 3 go bad in the last 6 or 7 years. Deltran has replace 2 under warrenty and the 3rd i had to buy from them, which is still a very good deal. They have done away with the transformers in them and the new ones are light weight and energy saving. We will see how long they last. Most likely still the best bang for your money.

Yes. I've had two go kaput in the last 10-years. Both on Battery Tenders that were hooked to vehicles with batteries still in them and parked in garages in our (central NY) Arctic winters. They were the regular sized ones. Not the juniors. The regular sized ones failed after approx. 4-years.

Only plug my bikes up once a week for a couple hours till the green light comes on. Then I unplug and repeat next week. Live in PA bikes are stored in unheated garage. Both batteries are over 3 years old with no problems

Mine failed last winter, I found out this spring when i went to start the bike and it was dead. I have been using that tender for at least 10 years. That will teach me to cover the bike and ignore it all winter...
