Default Factory reset on Boom 6.5

My Boom system has all of a sudden quick allowing me to go foward/backward when playing a flash drive in the USB port. I know my joystick is still working, as it works properly listening to the radio. Anyway to reset to factory default without taking it to the dealer to do it?

I tried the search and came up with nothing, but I may not have used the right search terms. TIA for any help.....

There's a setting you can switch from presets to seek, you might want to try that first. Here's a video that might help-

Whenever I change from the Flash Drive to XM I have to switch this.

Mine did the same thing a year ago. What the video shows fixed mine. I'm not sure how it got switched in the first place but it did.

Reset Infotainment

1. Turn IGN OFF. Wait 15 seconds.

2. Press and hold power/mute button. Turn IGN? to ACC.

3. Continue to press power button for 2 seconds after the WARNING screen is displayed.

4. Release power/mute button and accept warning.

The service menu may display Diag Service not Availiable when a menu option is initially selected. This message will clear once the system has finished performing the power-on process. Options are: DTCs, Audio, Display, Key input, Component menus, Version info, Reset, Touchscreen.

***Reset: Pre-calibration reset: Restores fatory default settings. This is recommended when there are radio symptoms and no DTCs*

Post calibration save: Archives customers settings so that they can be restored after a Post calibration Reset.

Post calibration reset: Resets the radio to factory default settings and restores the last archive data stored during Post calibration Save.

It is a computer. A good hard reboot-reset from time to time does it some good.

From Biketronics:

Performing a Rushmore Radio Reset:
First make sure the bike is not flashed for a stock HD amplifier. This can be
confirmed by ensuring one or both the fader control and the avc control are active.
If your bike came with a stock HD amplifier you will have to have the shop set up
the bike for zero amps, 4 speakers upper fairing/rear pods.
(Note: Owners on bikes that came without stock amp(s) should benefit from this
reset procedure without having to have the shop flash the radio for zero amps.)
1. Remove anything plugged into the radios USB port.
2. Keep any Bluetooth device away from the unit to avoid paring during
procedure.
IMPORTANT! - Be sure bikes on/off switch is off for at least one minute before
following this procedure.
3. Turn “run/kill” switch to “run” position.
4. Depress power/mute button on front of radio and turn ignition switch to “on”
position. (CONTINUE TO HOLD IN THE POWER BUTTON UNTIL AFTER YOU
DISMISS THE “ACCEPT” SCREEN.) Note: on 4.2 radios use joystick to perform
accept.
Radio should now be showing ‘Service Menu’.
5. Scroll down to menu pick “RESET.” Select RESET.
6. From the list of reset menu picks, select “Pre Calib. Reset”. You will be asked
to confirm your reset choice as: “Restore factory defaults.” Select Yes.
7. Radio will perform reset and reboot. After the reboot and “Accept”, turn off the
radio for at least one minute.
8. Power up the radio and enjoy!

If you add rear speakers to a StreetGlide, is there a way of turning on the speakers without taking it to a dealer?

I haven't been able to get to it yet with the weather we have been having, and maybe it is a good thing because I DO have a factory amp..........

Not that l'm aware of. I had mine done recently at my local dealership. I had them do the Ulta flash...four speakers, no amp.

If you want fade the dealer must flash as covert olds stated which also enables rear speaker plug in fairing. If you have aftermarket amp and speakers you can use Y RCA plugs to split the signal from front inputs to front and rear of amp and then run rear speakers off rear channel of amp. You'll have sound that way, but won't be able to fade between front and rear.
