with the horrible road conditions on I 70 plus the almost 5K I put on the bike with my trip out west, my fairly freshly installed rear (had 1200 miles on it before my trip) is already down to 4/32. I measured it when it was brand new and it was somewhere around 6.5/32. So I wore it down 2.5/32.
My front was installed right before I left, and it’s still at 6/32. I don’t think much wore off.

My wife and I are not small people and we just did 6k miles with the MC loaded up and the rear tire is approx 6/32nds.
What pressure are you running?
As for change out usually go about 12500.miles which is about 2.5/32nds which lines up with when the tires start to get squared off and noisy.

Question what type of tire? If stock HD touring tires the front is 5 or 6/32nds new and the rear between 9 or 10/32nds new for tread depth depending on rim size.

I replace them early. I ride fast and often long. I was leading a group ride recently and struggling to stay in my lane riding staggered at 90 mph, going into interstate curves. The front tire has flattened off, and the wind off of trucks and traffic seem to roll the bike on and off of that flat edge. Made the bike feel unstable. i'll be replacing it before I go too much further. I got 22,500 out of it so far, so I can't complain. Plenty of tread left to for those that don't push the speed that hard. Around town, it's fine as is.

my wife’s Heritage,s rear is shot, 1/32 left, and her front is at 3/32. Gotta order her a rear tire, and was thinking I should just bite the bullet and order all 3 at the same time.
