Default New lighted switch pack ?

I just purchased the lighted switch pack # 71500248B for my 2015 road glide special.
On the right switch pack, there’s a push to talk toggle switch that my bike didn’t come with. Does anyone know if you just leave it on the new one and install it?
I don’t see a way to take that ptt switch out.

thanks,
Bill

Based on the information provided in the installation instructions, it looks like there are two versions of the lighted switch packs. The other version is for a Road King, which has no switches for audio/CB controls. I guess you're just supposed to leave it alone. It shouldn't hurt anything.

Just ignore it and install as is. You could paint the lettering black so it disappears when they are lit. The lighting comes on when your instrument panel lighting comes on as triggered by the light sensor in the speedo. I installed mine on a '14 Ultra and find them to be a great addition. Should be factory installed and not a Harley "tax item"

The only reason i'm replacing the switches are because the trip button stopped working.
I just wanted to make sure that ptt switch won't mess anything up.

I added them to my 16 RGU, before I added a CB, and it was not a problem at all... when i’d accidentally hit that button a message would pop up on the stereo, “module not available” or “module not installed” or something like that and then it would go away. Later on I added a CB and the button was there waiting on it.

They require pulling new wires through the bars, right? I can’t imagine the wires disconnect from the originals for an easy swap?

Edit: Holy crap, just read the install instructions and they DO disconnect! I am ordering getting these tomorrow!

Lol, I'm down to one lighted switch pack now. Left odo button or trigger took a dump. Replace under ESP, but with the non-lighted part. Gonna have to bite the bullet and order another set. I will give Anthony at Boardtracker a call Monday. Then I will have an inventory of two non-lighted left switch packs, plus one lighted and one non-lighted right switch packs, after installing the new set. Maybe change my screen name to SwitchPak.

EDIT: If you buy from Boardtracker, spend the extra $9 bucks and get the additional year warranty. The left switch packs are notorious to failure, lighted on not.

It looks like you can buy the left lighted pack separately- 71500084 for $179 - way more then half the cost of the set, but if you don’t needs the right one, at least it’ll save you $40 or so...

Just a FYI The odo button may not work if it gets wet. Spray some WD40 in the opening and hit the button a few times and it should work. Its happen to me a few times.
