Default Tunnel of trees ?

hi folks

8 of us are riding up the east shore of Michigan , up to Alpena way and staying in Mackinaw City , i was looking for feedback if its worth it to cross the upper Peninsula and go through the tunnel of trees? how long out of the way is that and is it worth the extra time?

thanks

Tunnel of trees is cool and worth the trip IMO, Mackinac Island too touristy for me.

I rode through the ToT a couple summers ago. Not really impressed. A lot of the roads in Virginia are pretty much like it.

Don't think the tunnel of trees is in the upper, it's by Petoskey, Harbor springs, just west, south west of the bridge, nice area, M22 is a good road also, City Park is a good restaurant in Petoskey , Google tunnel of trees, plenty of videos

In my opinion it is worth the time to travel across the state and hit 119 ... stop a Leggs for a bite then hit the bridge ... Of course I've only ridden the entire perimeter of the upper and lower peninsula and been in all 83 counties as well

Coolest part of the area is Legg’s Inn. Side Door Saloon has good food as well, it’s located in Petoskey.

I just rode through there 2 weeks ago. That was the 3rd time going through the tunnel. It is a nice ride and for the area one of the better rides. Views are good and Legg's is a good place to stop and eat. Going through Petoskey and Charlevoix are cool and there are some good places to stop and stretch out. So, if you have go a long way to get there, you might be disappointed but if it's not out of your way, it would be worth it.

I recommend ToT and Leg’s Inn (Make sure to take a stroll out back and check out the view...)
One word of caution...Some of the turns on ToT are rather tight and sand can gather on these roads making it slippery.Just use caution...
Enjoy!!

If you are going to be close, it's worth doing, but I wouldn't go an hour out of my way to do it. Legs Inn is a cool place, the food was a 7, but worth stopping. Hope you have a safe trip.

M23 is pretty boring ride to Alpena. M22 on the west side is far more scenic. ToT is in lower peninsula as mentioned by someone else. M22 is really pretty up around Glen Arbor and north.
