Default DK Tank Lift

Anyone using the DK Customs 1 1/2 in tank lift on their ultra? Looking to add one to mine and wondered if there was any tank clearance issues? If no, would the deluxe option be better? I have read that lifting the tank also helps with some wind buffeting coming from the tank area. Your input would greatly be appreciated.

We always suggest checking for clearance when ordering a tank lift as what looks good on one bike might not look good to you.

You can unbolt the tank and take something like a rolled up shop towel and prop up the tank 1.5" and step back so you can see how it looks.

Raising the tank does help with wind buffeting as less wind is coming up and over the tank and is now circulating more around the engine. This is where the cooling aspect of the tank lift comes in.

The inner faring will touch the tank. You can remove the tank bolts, lift the tank to see, but it will hit. Ben there done it.

i have a 16 FLHXS and ordered their 2inch tank lift with the deluxe lift for rear. Absolutely loved it. Had no issues with stock bars or fairing touching tank at all. Then i put on my new bars, KST 16s and had to take the lift off. The bars almost contact the tank back in stock position. Super bummed about that, because i really loved the look. I could feel alot less heat with the lift vs without.

stock bars with a 1.5 tank lift on my 14 street glide. the cables touch the tank in full turns but been there for over a year with no issues. lift looks great and shows off the top of the jugs and makes it easier to clean them also.

I installed an 1 1/2lift on mine and the inner fairing touched the tank. It wasn’t too bad. But it touched and I couldn’t deal with it. I loved the look but... I ended up taking it back off

Installed the 2 1/2" w/ deluxe yesterday on my SGS. We have the 12' monkey bars and have no issues with bars or inner faring touching the tank. Install was a breeze even for a mechanically challenged older fella. Looks great to these eyes!
