Three week old Yuasa GYZ32HL dead?
Bought new three weeks ago, I go to start my 2014 FLHKT and........nothing, nada, no lights no sounds. Removed the battery and tested it with my voltmeter., 4.88 volts, mind you the bike had been sitting for a week in the garage. So after talking to customer service, they suggested to bring it in and they will charge it and test it to see if it is faulty. Three weeks ago when I first got the battery I measured the voltage and the reading was 12.3 volts. I get the impression they don't feel the battery is faulty, but I feel I can't trust this battery anymore. Any thoughts?

That new battery was only about 50% charged when you installed it. A fully charged 12v battery should have 12.8 to 13.2v. If you have security on your bike it does put a drain on the battery. I have left my 2014 RK w/ security for approximately 3 to 4 weeks not on a tender and had it start but it was a challenge. I immediately replaced the battery with a new one and left It on the tender.
Anyway if they can test it and it's good keep it on a tender and you may be good to go. Unless you have a larger parasitic drain somewhere.
I hope this helps.

Where did you purchase from? If it wasn't an authorized Yuasa dealer, then they could have gotten a bulk shipment of them that had been sitting in a hot warehouse for a year+. Happened to me twice when ordering off of Amazon. I contacted Yuasa directly and was told that they (and eBay, and many others) are NOT authorized sellers of their products and are not covered under the Yuasa warranty. The battery manufacture date code can only be deciphered by Yuasa, but you can email them and they can tell you when the battery was built. Both of the ones I got from Amazon were over a year old. One lasted 2 months, the other lasted about 2 weeks. Amazon refunded my money, but it was a hassle trying to find a good Yuasa battery. Revzilla IS an authorized retailer online, fyi.
Even though I have had good luck with other Yuasa batteries in the past, my next battery will be a Big Crank.
