Default buffeting and seats

interesting i notice a lot of threads on buffeting and seat comfort. i am comfortable with stock window and seat. i am 5 9" 200 30 inch inseam. Do they run these bikes off the assembly line just for me or does everyone have a different tolerance for wind and sore as@#?
i been a believer that seats are less important than just getting your butt use to sitting and putting the miles on.
regarding buffeting i never notice it without or with a helmet on a bat wing bagger.
riding baggers since 1995.
why so much variance?

I'm 6'0" with a 32 inch inseam, and I'm 60 years old. I've never been bothered by buffeting unless closing on an 18 wheeler or box truck. I ride all year and am anywhere from 35 to 80 mph regularly. Stock windshield on my 2016 FLHTK and now KlockWerks, I can smoke on the road all day. I never understood the complaints about buffeting. And the stock seat has always worked for me with my longest day in the saddle between 8 and 9 hours.

I have a 16 sg with an ultra seat. When i ran the stock shield it was terrible so i went with ultra recurve at 7 inch with stock sg seat and ultra low seat it was great. Then i went with the regular ultra seat and the 7 inch puts wind on the top of my head. I just order and 8 inch shield. I am 5'5" but long torso and short legs lol.

Default long days

2014 TK stock seat. I'm 6-2 and when I'm in the saddle for more than 6 hours I need a higher windshield and a softer seat. For those trips I have a 2" higher windshield and I use an air hawk cushion on the seat. Then it's a joy to travel long days.

6’2” 225#’s. i found the stock seat very uncomfortable for the first 1.5 riding seasons. it seems to be well formed to my skinny *** now and i can make a tankful without stopping unless the boss gotta pee🤪 i did put an 11” recurve long ride wind screen on as i found the top of the stock screen annoyingly right in the center of my line of sight and dont like 👀 through them. no wind buffet for either me or the mrs. never was.

5'11 with 30-31 ish inseam ....199lbs

Stock seat on my SG sucked. Stock seat on my ultra limited sucked. Both were way too soft and the Ultra Limited seat made me feel like I was sitting on the gas tank. I prefer a little more leg room and I prefer a firmer seat. Ultra windshield was fine...I just preferred a dark shield, so went with LRS in different heights. I do get buffeting...my wind comes directly over the lowers and hits my torso and rolls up my body and will shake my Shoei Neotec. It's bearable, but it's there. It's not there with my 1/2 helmet. In my case, it has more to do with the helmet choice.

I look at it like this. Why are there so many brands of mattresses? Why doesn't one brand suit everyone? Why don't we all just like the same soft, firm, hard, or pillow top mattress? Why would one mattress give me body aches, but not someone else. Pillows.....I'm a side sleeper and need a firm pillow that keeps my neck perfectly aligned.......my wife likes two soft pillows.

I'm a cyclist too .....and if you do not get "fit" to your road bike, there is no way to ride 60+ miles for hours. Fore/aft of your saddle (seat), angle and height of that seat, cutout or no cutout, handlebar height, distance from pedals.

I'm just glad we all have choices to find our own comfort. But BTW....most of my buddies are fine with the stock seats and many are fine with the stock bars too.........most have added a taller shield. But I, often, wonder .....how is he riding with that stock SG shield and having no issue. In the case of my friends....it's the helmet choice.

be blessed guys
